AI Colloquium: kick off meeting SIG AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art

This AI Colloquium will launch the Special Interest Group AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art. SIG coordinator Iris van der Tuin has invited Prof. Dr. Felicity Colman of the University of the Arts London and dr. Martin Lopes Nores from the University of Vigo as speakers.The SIG AI in Cultural Inquiry and Art is a collaboration of Humanities, Policy and Organization Studies, and Computer Sciences colleagues of Utrecht University. The SIG zooms in on and contributes to the converging practices that yield emerging and transforming genres and platforms for exchange within the academy and at the intersection of academic and creative practice, ultimately affecting the audiences of academies; media, art, and performance institutions; and makerspaces.
The session consists of two presentations with Q&A afterwards. Prof. Dr. Felicity Colman of the University of the Arts London introduces the concept of the “algorithmic condition”. Dr. Martin Lopes Nores from the University of Vigo discusses his work on AI in cultural heritage.
