[ABC] HAI Colloquium with Sven Nyholm: AI and Responsibility Gaps

The Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence Colloquium Committee warmly invites you to attend the November colloquium in which associate professor of Philosophical Ethics Sven Nyholm will give a presentation on responsibility gaps in AI.

Responsibility
When responsibility gaps are discussed in AI ethics, typically the worry is that if and when AI technologies cause bad outcomes, it might not be clear who (if anyone) should be blamed. This can be called a negative responsibility gap. Nyholm suggests that we should also reflect on the following: when AI technologies cause good outcomes, will it always be clear who (if anyone) is praiseworthy for this? Or will there sometimes be a form of positive responsibility gaps?
